Who can become a jumpAgrade teacher-mentor?

We are looking for enthusiastic, technically confident (or willing to learn!) teachers with expertise in one or more of our offered subjects, who are passionate about supporting underrepresented students in reaching their academic and personal goals.
Join our diverse, remote team and:

Weekly contact time availability is set by teachers. Teachers can choose from varying roles, taking as many students as they want, starting from a minimum of 6. Students engage with the service through a blend of 1:1 online meetings and guided learning and feedback on assignments, with 30 minutes of allocated contact time per week. Teachers choose their own available times for any student meetings.

Teachers work with us while on a career break, or to supplement part-time or full-time teaching. Paid CPD training is provided in a variety of areas, including digital instruction skills, wellbeing and mentoring, and content creation. jumpAgrade also offers career development and senior teacher and full-time roles.

Criteria

Who can teach with jumpAgrade?

The ideal jumpAgrade teacher-mentor is:

• An active second-level teacher, registered with the Irish Teaching Council
• Strongly familiar with the curriculum in one or more of our offered subjects:
• Maths (Higher & Ordinary, 3rd/5th/6th Year)
• English (Higher & Ordinary, 5th/6th Year)
• Irish (Higher & Ordinary, 5th/6th Year)
• French (Senior Cycle)
• Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics: Senior Cycle only)
• Experienced in group or private tuition in the subject offered
• Competent using online teaching tools and methodologies
• Understanding and supportive of the needs and motivations of underrepresented students
• Available to work outside of school hours (minimum 4 hrs/week)
• Ordinarily resident in Republic of Ireland with active PPS number

jumpAgrade teacher-mentors receive a competitive hourly rate for all working hours.
Full-time and senior roles are remunerated commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
